Professionally cleaned between guests, this Urban Sanctuary is an oasis in the middle of the city. Gorgeous luxury renovation with high end finishes. English basement, exposed brick, heated floors (bed/ bath), 1 bed/bath, sofabed. In the heart of Capitol Hill! Walking distance to 2 metros (Union Station & Eastern Market), restaurants & nightlife! Light filled space comfortably fits 2, but can accommodate 4 (with sofabed). (Please note -- additional guests over 2 incur an additional $25/person per night.)
Guests' space is completely private with separate entrance (front & back), all amenities included - cable/WiFi, gourmet kitchen, washer/dryer, heated floors (bedroom/bathroom). Conveniently located and designed to accommodate business travelers and visitors alike.
One block from public bus, Capitol Bikeshare, 8 blocks from 2 metro lines (Union Station & Eastern Market), and 2 blocks from the H Street trolley, and 4 blocks from Whole Foods. Street parking (with restrictions). Walk score of 94. Please contact me a week in advance if you have a car. Street parking requires a premier (for longer than 2 hours), which may incur an additional cost.
I spent 2 years lovingly rebuilding this space in an 1890s historic row house to make it incredible. Every attention to detail, to include solar panels for the house. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do, and make it your home away from home - enriching your visit with fond memories of DC, the neighborhood and the Urban Sanctuary. No pets, no smoking, not more than 4 guests. Kindly ask that you treat this like your home & care for the space and the community (neighbors & the environment). Note - parking is limited to street parking (with restrictions). No parties, please tidy after your visit, if coming/going late please be respectful, and please be a kind steward of the environment. Summary: This location is an easy 15-20 minute walk from Union Station, less than a mile from the US Capitol, and if you are a walker about 2 miles from the end of the Mall. The bus line is just on the corner and Uber is a very close drive to virtually any location in DC. Two blocks over on H Street is a Whole Foods and lots of restaurants. The lodging has everything you will need from a full kitchen, a very quiet washer and dryer, and heated floor bathroom. It is truly a nice quiet place to return at the end of a very busy day.Jamie, the host, was fantastic. She met us when we arrived with a nice bottle of Proseco and extra shampoo. She was available, if needed. There is a white binder with all the information about the apartment and the area. Highly recommend staying here.

Summary: Jamie was a fantastic host! She checked in on us and even brought us some snacks! The apartment was newly remodeled and well put together. We stayed for 7 days while exploring DC. 2 blocks to the “H street Streetcar” that was free and only 3 stops to Union station where you can get anywhere. Also an easy address for Uber drivers to find.

Summary: Thanks Jamie for the use of your wonderful apt. It was just as pictured. Very nicely decorated. Bed was comfy, kitchen well stocked, even supplied coffee! Close to Union Station and Metro stop.Jamie you were a pleasure to work with and also thanks for your suggestions for dinner! We had a great time in Washington and will return!

Summary: We are two older adults in our 60's that stayed in this property, we walked to Union Station daily to catch the DC Trolley to multiple attractions. Union Station also offers eating choices and a drug store for quick snacks, soda and more. We also walked to Nostra Cucina a great little Italian resturant dont miss this. While on tour of the Capital we walked to a taco place called Santa Rosa Taqueria fantastic nachos and drinks! We visited all the major attractions, by taking the trolley, there is a cost but well worth it as many attractions are ganged together as they drop you off at 15 different locations.The property was exactly as pictured, Jamie the owner was in our top three for communicating with us before our trip and during. Her responses are timely and informative. When we arrived there was a personal note to us along with a gift that we appreciated! You really could not ask for anything more. Keep in mind that this property is below ground and the steps to get down to the lower property is a little challenging, if you have some heavy lugage you will manage, but take your time. The property and surrounding area was quite, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was great, shower, and kitchen area had everything you needed.We would stay here again - I think you would enjoy this property as well.

Summary: I loved staying here and hope to return on future DC trips. The apartment has everything you would need for stay and the interior design details are inspiring. The bed was very comfortable. I was worried it might be chilly but was pleasantly surprised by the heated floors. Jamie, the owner, was awesome about checking in if I needed anything (which I didn't) and about offering early check in and check out, which was not needed but greatly appreciated. I would highly recommend staying here. Neighborhood is also very quiet and close to public transit to jump to where ever you would need to go.

Summary: Without a doubt one of the nicest homes we have ever stayed at. The room was marvelous. The bed so comfortable. All amenities as described. Our host checked in with us several times to be sure all was well. Never have had a host so attentive to our needs. Thank you Janie!! Would definitely come back again!!

Summary: This place is PERFECT ! Walking distance from all forms of transportation, beautiful quiet neighborhood. The home is comfortable and cozy, it included everything needed to get away but still feel at home... small things, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, washer dryer, dishwasher. The host is amazong and full of usefull information, the home has many brochures and maps to help with your trip while you enjoy breakfast in the fully equiped kitchen.... I could go on forever.... BOTTOM LINE: This place ROCKS ! and the host is amazing !

Summary: I needed to do research at the National Archives. The space was perfect and there is a great coffee shop on the way to Union Station. The Metro made it easy for me to just fly in and walk for most of my stay. Will stay here again when I come to do research

Summary: The property is very well maintained and located, close to services, transportation, local attractions. It has everything that you may need and all in good conditions, everything worked well and both me and the teenager I stayed with were very happy and comfortable. I highly appreciated the constant communication with Jamie the owner, who was at all times very caring that we had a good experience in the place, and answered immediately to all questions or doubts. I thank Jamie and hope to stay there any time I go back.
